What's this vibrohypno stuff?
What are these methods and why does anyone use them? 🤨
How I found out, what it all is, and why it works.đź’ˇ
Some of you know that I'm musical. Very musical. I sang before I talked and I'm synesthetic about it. As I felt and communicated with music, creating my environment, and realizing the impact of that environment on others, I didn't fully grasp the power of what was happening because it was all I knew. After healing myself in what would be known as miracle actions deemed impossible in medical journals, my purpose unfolded. It takes an expansion of one's logic to make sense of this. That expansion opens up a realm with a lot of unfamiliar names and concepts. That's why I've this newsletter, to provide an overview and some detail of these concepts. I'm not an entertainer, I just happened to perform like one. I'm a healer and a teacher and always have been.
So let's dive in:
ASMR HYPNOTHERAPY:
Hypnotic suggestion is an intersection of psychology, neuroscience, and therapeutic practice that offers profound healing of both psychological and physiological conditions. Through specialized techniques and carefully crafted suggestions, hypnotherapy can effectively reprogram neural pathways, alter autonomic responses, and facilitate healing in ways that can enhance or even bypass conventional approaches.Hypnotic suggestion works seamlessly with vibrational relaxation techniques, allowing ease with the subconscious mind. Suggestion of what to notice allows individuals autonomous flow and healing in the ways best suited to them.
The subconscious mind serves as the repository for our deepest beliefs, behaviors, emotional responses, and even physical reactions. Since this aspect of our consciousness operates largely outside our awareness but affects everything we do, making sure the automatic system has all the right tools to support us creates more efficient function when we override patterns that no longer serve us or our wellbeing.
What makes hypnosis particularly effective for reprogramming is that the subconscious mind processes information differently than the conscious mind. While the conscious mind relies heavily on logic and critical analysis, the subconscious responds more readily to imagery, symbols, and emotions. Hypnotic suggestions often incorporate vivid visualization and emotional components that resonate more deeply with the subconscious mind. Additionally, since the subconscious can't distinguish between what is vividly imagined and what is real, powerful imagery during hypnosis can create new neural pathways similar to those formed through actual experience.
Research demonstrates that hypnosis produces significant and measurable effects on autonomic nervous system activity. The autonomic nervous system plays a crucial role in regulating involuntary bodily functions and maintaining homeostasis through its two primary branches: the sympathetic nervous system, which activates the "fight-or-flight" response during stress, and the parasympathetic nervous system, which promotes "rest-and-digest" functions. Numerous studies suggest that hypnosis enhances parasympathetic nervous system activity while simultaneously reducing sympathetic tone. This shift creates a physiological state conducive to healing, as the parasympathetic nervous system governs restorative processes including tissue repair, immune function, and digestion.
Particularly noteworthy is hypnotherapy's effect on the vagus nerve, the longest and most complex nerve of the parasympathetic nervous system. Through guided hypnotic suggestions, individuals can activate and reset the vagus nerve. Improved vagal tone—a measure of vagus nerve activity—has proven useful in reducing inflammation, boosting digestion, improving heart rate variability, and enhancing sleep quality, all of which contribute to your healing.
A study published in the journal Cerebral Cortex found that hypnosis could alter brain connectivity patterns, enhancing communication between different regions of the brain. This increased connectivity facilitates the integration of new insights and behavioral patterns, allowing for more flexible and adaptive responses.
FREQUENCY HEALING:
Everything is vibrating, from the things you feel and hear to the rainbows in the sky to matter itself. Your brain vibrates, too, and it's happy doing so. As a lifelong performing musician, I've been working for a long time with the vibrations you can hear, feeling the strain of pitches that produce more waves when played together, creating a harsh sound or feel, and those that vibrate together. The lowest notes we can hear vibrate at a very low frequency. Our brains like to vibrate like that for rest and healing, but there are also ways to produce those waves between different notes. Specific pitches also have a greater effect on specific parts of the physical and energetic body. I use bowls and gongs, instruments, and my voice. Not just the words I say, but the timbre is important.Among all brain wave patterns, delta waves show the strongest correlation with physical healing and restoration processes. These slow-frequency waves dominate during the deepest stages of sleep, when the body prioritizes repair and recovery functions. Delta waves have been specifically linked to several crucial healing mechanisms within the body.
Research shows that delta brain waves help improve immunity by increasing the production of cytokines, proteins that regulate immune response and combat infection. This makes delta waves crucial for recovery from illness. Similarly, delta waves are associated with reduced inflammation, which further supports recovery from injuries and inflammatory disease.
For all that delta waves support the physical being, theta waves support neurological function and psychological health. Theta brain waves govern the part of our mind where memories and feelings are stored and where beliefs and behaviors are formed, so theta states are super useful for psychological healing, processing trauma, relieving anxiety, and reframing negative thought patterns because the mind is more receptive to suggestion and change. Our work uses these waves patterns so you can feel calm, focused, and healed.
MINDSET SHIFT:
Popularized by Stephen Covey, author of "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People," the 90/10 principle suggests that while we cannot control most external circumstances, we maintain tremendous power over our responses to those circumstances. This mental reframing offers a practical and realistic approach to improving our experience of life through conscious choice rather than automatic reaction. So, about 10% of life consists of uncontrollable events like the car breaking down, drivers cutting us off in traffic, or business presentations not going as planned. These events weave into the fabric of human experience, and we must navigate this regardless of our preferences or intentions. The good news is that the 90% represents our response to these circumstances—the thoughts, emotions, and actions we choose after an event occurs. This distinction between what happens and how we respond provides both freedom and responsibility. While we can't control external events, we are the main driver of our internal world and choices.
This choice is incredibly powerful. What is a reaction to an event can become a point of acceptance, of learning, of growth, or it can turn into blame, growing our unsettled state and rippling through the day until the entire day becomes a series of unfortunate events. Imagine how a mindset of control over our reactions to pain could help us to heal that pain, or keep us stuck in the trauma of feeling it?
MENTAL FITNESS:
In the tradition of a Positive Intelligence practice, we integrate this methodology to strengthen positive mental patterns while weakening negative ones, creating lasting change through consistent mental training. Positive Intelligence (PQ) measures the percentage of time your mind serves you as opposed to sabotaging you. While IQ measures cognitive intelligence and EQ measures emotional intelligence, PQ determines how much of your potential you actually achieve, directly affecting how you feel and how easily you function. Shirzad Chamine, developer of the framework, combines crucial learning from neuroscience, positive psychology, cognitive psychology, and performance science and creates this evidence-based framework to help improve overall wellbeing and achieve your goals. Our mental fitness training includes lifting with and strengthening rapid-fire shifts to de-escalate negative thought patterns, and this practice is called Self-Command. We also train our ability to disarm the main sources of the false narratives that cause our self-sabotaging behaviors, and we call this strength our Saboteur-Interceptor. Finally, we grow the presence and strength of your positive self, which we call the Sage. These powers enable you to respond to situations from a place of wisdom and possibility rather than fear and limitation. As these muscles strengthen, you develop greater capacity to find creative solutions, maintain perspective during challenges, and take action aligned with your deeper values.
